Emily Hichborn, BS

Research Coordinator, Northeast Node of the National Drug Abuse Clinical Trials Network, Center for Technology and Behavioral Health, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Emily is engaged in research with the Northeast Node of the Clinical Trials Network and the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colby-Sawyer College with a BS in Child Development in 2019. While at Colby-Sawyer she worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder conducting applied behavioral analysis therapy. Also during this time she lead a research study that looked at the effect of nutrition on a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, in conjunction with studying abroad in Australia during her spring semester of junior year in order to connect the two countries on the topic of nutrition. Throughout her senior year, Emily worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire as a psychiatry research intern. While at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Emily participated in a number of studies looking at aggression in children as well as the use of antipsychotics with children. Emily was involved in the design and execution of the 99 Faces Project monthly events. The 99 Faces Project was brought to Dartmouth-Hitchcock for six months as a way to start the conversation on mental health and to break the stigma that comes with a diagnosis. Also during this time, Emily assisted in researching, planning and implementing a Hub and Spoke model for opioid care in New Hampshire. At the Northeast Node, Emily works to support the Director of Operations and Project Director in research efforts. In her free time, Emily enjoys being at the lake, spending time with friends and family and cooking.
