Webinar description: With the increasing prevalence of illicit fentanyl, it is important for healthcare providers to understand the new hurdles they may face in treatment of opioid use disorders. This session aims to improve the healthcare provider’s understanding of the changing trends of illicit opioids that they may see in their patient population. This will provide information on pharmacokinetics and how fentanyl may differ from other opioids and will touch base on treatment modalities.
Educational objectives: At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:
- Explain the pharmacokinetics of Opioids.
- Discuss the change in trends of illicit opioids.
- Examine various treatment modalities.
Credit education information: This course has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider #CEP16785, for a maximum of 1.00 Nursing CE. The licensee must retain this document for a period of four (4) years after the course concludes.
